Time to come home dear brother;
Your tour of duty is through;
You’ve given more than anyone;
Could be expected to do;
Just a few steps further;
The smoke will start to clear;
Others here will guide you;
You have no need to fear;
You have not failed your brothers;
You clearly gave it all;
And through your selfless actions;
Others will hear the call;
So take your place of honor now;
Among those who have gone before;
And know that you will be remembered;
Both now and forevermore.

Arizona’s Legacy of Sacrifice
Across our state’s history, thousands of men and women have given their lives in service to others.
• 2,015 Arizona military service members have died in wars and conflicts defending our nation.
• 293 Arizona law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty protecting our communities.
• 150 Arizona firefighters have died while answering the call to serve.
Each of these numbers represents a life of courage, sacrifice, and devotion to others.
Behind every name is a family forever changed, partners who continue the mission, and communities that carry their memory forward.
